BRIDGING THE GAPS IN OUR MEMORIES AMONG YOUNG AND ELDERLY.

BRIDGING THE GAPS IN OUR MEMORIES AMONG YOUNG AND ELDERLY.

2016-2018 Look up Bridgend Initiative and Bridgend Town Council

Project outline:

The Look-up initiative has highlighted how effective street art can be in enabling communities to celebrate creative thought and ideas.  My project would like to develop this further by providing a window in to some of the settings that have been lost over time. The focus of the project is not to mourn the places but rather to celebrate history and the social significance these Bridgend settings once held.  The gaps in the younger generation’s memories will be engaged through using a locally known set of characters called “The Ogs”. The Ogs have had great success engaging children young people and adults in creative thought and actions and would provide the imagery and voice of this project.

Aim.

To create a series of hardwearing images that can be mounted on selected walled and vacant areas of Bridgend townscape.  These images would be of a high quality art and photographic nature (see Below) .
