The Ferns Again!

One day I can be walking amongst a coppery brown #landscape on a dry, cold, windy #winter day. The next day that same route is a rich, burgundy, red brown landscape due to the simple addition of heavy rain. This rich colour really outshines the dry ferns. The dry, brittleness suggested by the dry leaves makes for quite a barren landscape whereas, the damp leaves look positively #Lush

It is fascinating observing the two contrasting colours and the simple effect of rain water on the Ferns. It made me think about the change in my own appearance before and after I go in to the Sea. Using the same terminology as above I think it is fair to say, I too look quite dry and barren before I go in the sea and on exiting said sea I am rich with vigour, colour (albeit blue) and vibrancy! It doesn’t last long !

These images have been created using Daler Rowney Acrylic Inks.  This medium proved perfect as a way of capturing an almost aerial perspective of the colour changes along the Heritage coastline.
